BLOG TOUR: Moore to Lose by Julie A. Richman

Book Two in the Needing Moore Series. Adult Contemporary Romance

Continuing the fight for their happily ever after that began in Searching for Moore, Schooner Moore and Mia Silver struggle to overcome the ghosts and baggage they accumulated during their time apart.

Exploring the missing 24 years when they were separated, Moore to Lose follows Mia's journey from heartbroken teen to kickass businesswoman to her emotional reunion with Schooner and the exploration of the love that was ripped from them.

But is their love really strong enough to overcome the damage of those missing 24 years or will they continue to be ripped apart by pasts that can't be changed?

This is Book 2 in the Needing Moore Series. This is not a stand alone book. It is meant to be read after Searching for Moore.

Man, it feels great to be in NYC. That Texas heat was driving me batty and even the mugginess of the subway can get me down. I am in New York for a bit of a secret mission and I blame it all on Seth Shapiro, Mia Silver's best friend and trusted assistant! I was trying to get some information out of the BBC and he was not throwing me one bone. I would call Mia and talk with her directly but she is at the end of her pregnancy and under enough stress with the baby, so I decided this mission was the only way to get the info I needed.
I am in search of Professor Hottie himself, Tom Sheehan. I am heading towards the Tisch School for the Arts at NYU to see if I can hunt down Professor Sheehan to see if he can shed some light on the years he and Mia were together. He is still teaching script writing and so I am going to slip into one of his lectures to see if I can talk to him afterwards.
It took me a while but I found the lecture hall and I slide into the back row hoping not to disrupt the class. We are talking about me though and of course I catch my sandal on the edge of a chair and fall forward making a huge noise and everyone in the class turns to stare at me.
"Thank you for joining our class, Miss...?"
"Ohhh...um Sorry, that's Ms. Manuel, Becca Manuel"
"Are you ok? Ms. Manuel" he asks with a smirk on this handsome face. Time has been certainly been good to the professor.
"Yes, thank you. Sorry, please carry on. I will be sitting right over here." I say as I take a seat and hide my face behind my hands.
"Thank you Ms. Manuel, can you please see me after class" he says, and then turns to continue on with his lecture.
Well I guess that's one way to get his attention and SCORE!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
After class I weave my way through students, heading out of the lecture hall, making my way to Professor Hottie’s desk. As I approach, he is leaning against his desk, ankles crossed with his well-defined arms crossed in front of his broad chest. Damn, how do the girls in this class get anything accomplished? The corners of his lips are in a half smirk, his eyes following up my curves to look me straight in the eyes.
“Sorry to interrupt your class, Professor Sheehan, I was told that you were the best there was out there when it comes to writing scripts, so I thought I could sneak in to get a peak while I was in town.”
A full smile that reaches his eyes spreads across his face. “Is that so? Well who would tell you such a thing? Although, whoever told you this speaks the truth.”  He said, with a bit of a laugh.
Let’s see how handsome reacts to this - “A former student of yours…Mia Silver.”
"Now, that's quite a surprise."
"Mia is actually an acquaintance of mine. I am closer to her assistant Seth Shapiro. You know him right?

A private smile appears on his face, as if he is recollecting some ancient, fond memory. "Yes, I do know him.  It's been a long time."
"From what Seth has told me, you and Mia were pretty close. How did you meet her?"
"Mia was a student of mine.  A star student. She's a very gifted writer, although her fiction seems to be more in the selling of products rather than for literary purposes."
“So you were with Mia in the beginning of her career.” I say, watching him closely. I heard from Seth that Tom here is pretty full of himself and gives himself a lot of credit for her start.
"I was there the night she formed M. Silver & Associates.  We drank Cristal," he laughs as if it were a private joke. "We didn't use glasses."  From the look on his face, he is clearly remembering one fine memory.
“What would you say was Mia’s strengths?”
"Mia is a great observer of people.  Most people, who casually know her, would think Mia likes to be at the center of things.   But that is far from the truth.  Mia is more comfortable skirting the edges from a great vantage point and taking everything in - and then using that knowledge.  She's also pretty damn funny.  I'm sure you already know that, Ms. Manuel."
“Yes, Mia is quite an extraordinary woman. I am feel privileged to be able to work with both her and Schooner. Have you seen or talked with Mia since you broke up with her?”

"Broke up with her?" he seems quite affronted. "Where did you ever get such erroneous information?"  His body language changes, arms crossing over his chest.

“Sorry, maybe I should re-phrase that. Have you seen Mia since she kicked you out on your ass? Is that better?” Oh maybe I shouldn't have done that. He does not look happy! “I’m sorry professor that was rude of me. I was just wondering if you have had any contact with her since your time together. Seth said that the two of you were really close.”

His look of annoyance changes on a dime and he's leveling a hotter than Miami on a summer's day glance at me and that sexy bad boy smile.  My knees are starting to go weak.  This man is pure sex and trouble. How old was Mia when she met him?  She didn't stand a chance. I want to take his class, I want to take him. Wait, I'm married (sorry Gene)

"She did throw me out on my ass." he chuckles, totally amused at the distant memory.  "At least I got out of there wearing clothes.  She was quite the hellion, that little one.  God, she was hot!"
How should I even respond to that, I wonder. I'm both uncomfortable and fascinated and he is so charismatic and I have no idea of what is going to come out of his mouth next.

“Are there any regrets?” I manage to ask.

He ignores me and turns the tables.  This man likes control. God, he's hot!

"So, do you know Schooner?"

"I do." I manage to eek out.

"What's he like? By the way, who the hell names their kid Schooner?" His snarky side is beginning to come out.

"He's probably the only person that could pull off the name," I start, "and it actually totally fits him.  He's a great guy.  And he really loves Mia. She is clearly the love of his life."

He regards me, thinking about what I've said and I grab control of the questioning, "What about you? Who's been the great love of your life?"

Intently, he stares deep into my eyes ... should I run ... change my underwear which this man's looks are making (well, you know!) ... "My great love is creating and then watching it on the big screen," he laughs, "and then on to the next." There's that look and smile again. "Quite like my life, Ms. Manuel. Quite like my life."

Giving him my sweetest smile, “I wasn't lying when I said that you were the best out there. And I would really be interested in taking in one of your lectures sometime, from the beginning. If you ever head to Texas for a lecture tour, let me know.”

"I have a feeling you'd be a star student, Ms. Manuel.  I would enjoy teaching you."

My mouth has gone dry.  This man is trouble.  Where do I enroll!

Moore to Lose has been a book that I was waiting on Pins and Needles to read. I was so in love with Searching for Moore and love being found again 24 years later. So when I got my copy of Moore to Lose, I locked myself away and got ready for the roller coaster of emotions that I knew I was going to be taking. Now I am going to tell you right now, this is Mia's journey. Yes, Schooner is in this book, but he is only a supporting character. This is all about Mia and dare I say that I think I loved this book even more than Searching for Moore (Gasp!!)

This book covers the 24 years in between the time Mia left Schooner in California to the present time with her being pregnant with Schooners baby. Mia did not have it easy those 24 years. There was always the what ifs. She met her best friend during this time and she had other loves, although none as strong as the bond between her and Schooner. This book is raw and gritty and digs deep into Mia's emotions and actions during those years. I will admit, I was in tears for a majority of this book. But what happened for me is that I truly understood Mia and saw Mia for the first time. I wanted to grab her and hug her and tell her that everything was going to be ok. No one needed to live the life that she had. Even though she was an independent and strong woman when we met her in Searching for Moore. We truly see the real Mia in Moore to Lose!

FIVE FANTASTIC STARS for Moore to Lose and book three can not come fast enough!!

As he hardened beneath her fingers, Mia's devil smile grew wider and wider.
"You're incorrigible."
Mia looked at him with her "You didn't just figure that out now, did you?" look and he laughed.
She could feel his erection straining against his jeans and she wanted to take it out probably as much as he did. With a quick kiss on the lips, she ducked her head down the bed.
He started to protest and Mia looked up at him and put her finger to her lips, "Shhhh."
And then she did what he did not expect. She did not undo the top button of his jeans, she did not unzip his fly, she did not reach inside his jeans to pull him out and fondle him (even though she was dying to). With her teeth, Mia outlined his cock through his jeans. As she moved from base to tip at an excruciatingly slow pace, she opened her mouth so that her top teeth were on one side of his cock, her bottom teeth on the other.
The sound of his moan and the feel of his fingers in her hair, made Mia ache to have him inside of her. She nibbled the soft head of his cock through the rough fabric.
"Oh God, Mia." He reached down and pulled her on top of him so that they were laying face to face. Both panting, he took her face in his hands and pulled her lips down to his, kissing her roughly.
She could feel his cock between her legs and pressed down, "I want you," she said into his mouth, rubbing along the length of him slowly clockwise, and then lifting her mouth off of his slightly to smile, she changed the direction of her grinding to counterclockwise.

  2. I knew a Tom Sheehan, or as I call him, Tom MF Sheehan, once. He was a "fun ride" and I "enjoyed" myself quite a bit. Burned hot and fast, but boy was it "fun." Mmmm.....

"Moore to Lose" was a completely unexpected, yet necessary, second part to the "Needing Moore" series. Mia deserved her time to shine and we were taken on another emotional journey by Julie Richman! Highly recommend it!
