Acquiesce by Cory Cyr

****18+ due to adult language and explicit sexual content*****

Caspian Vance~former child prodigy, now an accomplished professor of human sexuality at twenty-six has it all—an IQ that's off the charts, a stellar career at which he excels, and the drop-dead looks and body that make women spontaneously combust with lust.

He's been studying sex and women's behavior since he was sixteen. When it comes to the science of human lust and the rewards of sexual pursuits, he has all the answers.

There's one thing he knows for sure: "love" has nothing to do with it.

Sex is a basic, primal human need—love is an unstable, emotional complication. Both are present in a person, but completely unrelated. His own world of logic and fact accepts this truth and now. . .

He's going to prove it.

When Cass takes a sabbatical to research his theory in order to write his third book, he enlists the help of a former lover and now owner of the world's most exotic and secretive male brothel catering strictly to wealthy older women. On this remote Caribbean island, he uses his keen sense of observation and research to prove "love" is merely a series of chemical reactions in the human brain—nothing more.

Nicola Barrington~ had the perfect life, married to her soul mate.Ten years into her one and only relationship, her idyllic world is shattered by the death of her beloved husband. The loss of her "one true love" sends her into seclusion where she spends the next eleven years pining for the man she still loves.

The beautiful heiress, stays hidden away, her only connection to the outside world being being the hired help and her two close friends. Her friends know Nic has much to live for and are eager to see her find love again. . . and if not love, they would settle for her rediscovering the throes of lust.

As her 40th birthday approaches, her two friends succeed in coaxing her out of her emotionally safe haven to celebrate with a trip to an exclusive resort known for "restoring an older woman's brilliant, inner glow."

Caspian’s superiority and logic combined with Nic's innocence and melancholy are on an imminent collision course. Sometimes even a genius has a hard time figuring out a woman.

This was one intense book. Hot and sexy, emotional and entertaining. I loved every minute of Nic and Cass.

Cass is a professor of Human Sexuality. He is clinical and cold and to the point. Emotions can not play a part of his sex life. He sees sex as a physical release, nothing more. He takes a sabbatical for his work to do some research on an island that serves as a male brothel. He's out to prove that emotions have nothing to do with sex... that is until he meets Nic.

Nic is duped into visiting the island with her two best friends. It's been 11 years since he husband, her soulmate died. She has had no interaction with people - especially men. She's not here to meet someone, she just wants to stay to herself and get through the next 21 days without having to humiliate herself any further. But when Cass strikes up a conversation with her and the two become friends, something starts to happen to Nic - and she's not sure what's happening between the two of them, but it's something she wants to explore.

This book was full of raw emotions from both Cass and Nic. You find yourself loving and hating Cass and really pulling for Nic to come through this hurdle in her life.

Great writing, sexy characters, keeping you wondering what's next for this duo.  Highly recommend.

What inspired you to write Asquiesce? It's so different and unique.
I have wanted to write a "male brothel" book since I began penning romance April 2013. I always knew it would be the third younger man/older woman book for me. What I didn't know is that my characters: Cass & Nic would take over the book pushing the brothel to the background.

Did you have to do a lot of research for this book? Any more than the usual?
The research was crazy. I watched 11 PORN dvds. Most of which sucked and not in a good way. I wanted to make sure the sex scenes that involved ANAL were factual. I visited over ten ADULT TOY STORES and fell in love with the Violet Wand. So yeah the research was more than usual for me.

What's more fun writing for you? The emotional yet strong heroine like Nic? Or the 0 to Bitch characters like Lorraine?
I enjoy writing both. Since I base all my characters on actual people I know I use that to drive me. I love writing all my characters.

What's your writing process like?
I have to have ginger root beer and teddy grahams. RULES. I cannot write early in the day. Anal & coffee do not mix! I do my best writing and my thought process is clearer late afternoon into the night. I continually have dialogue between myself and my characters. While I am driving, grocery shopping, sleeping etc. I keep a digital recorder with me at all times.

What's up next for you?
I just finished my POV book for Bite & Release "The Reason I Breathe" Shea's POV. It will be published late July/early August. I have a novella "Confessions of a Cockaholic"(Weezie's POV) publishing October 24th. My first series SNaTCH will be out April 2016.
