BLOG TOUR: Leap of Faith by Jamie Blair

Can true love be built on lies? A teen on the run seeks relief and redemption in this gripping, romantic read.

Leah Kurtz has finally found a place to call home, a town where she and baby Addy can live in peace, far from the drug-infested place she grew up. Chris is one of the best parts of her new life, the only person who’s ever made her feel safe. And now that she’s found him, there’s no way she can tell the truth:

Her real name is Faith, not Leah. She’s seventeen, not nineteen. And the baby isn’t hers—Faith kidnapped her.

Faith’s history catches up with her when a cop starts asking questions and Chris’s aunt spots her picture in the newspaper. She knows it’s time to run again, but if Faith leaves, she’ll lose Chris. If Chris is in love with a lie, though, did Faith ever really have him in the first place?

I adored this book! This book  really tugs on your heartstrings. It can be gritty at times and once I started on the journey I had a hard time putting it down.

Faith wants to get away from the hell hole of a life that she is living. With an alcoholic mother and a sister that loves her but is just as ready to leave herself, Faith seems stuck. She's only 16 and still has to finish high school before she can take off. Then she finds out her mom is pregnant again, Faith starts to panic. She doesn't want her new brother or sister to live through the life that she is dealt. Even though the baby is being given to a friend of her moms, its not a better situation than what she is living in now. So when the baby is born, Faith takes her new baby sister, Addy,  and take off for Florida, passing Addy off as her own. But little did she know how hard it was to raise a baby. In Florida though she finally finds a family, a place to belong. Chris and his family open their hearts and their home to Faith, but they know her as Leah, and things turn into the idealistic dream that she always wanted. But her past starts to catch up with her and she finds herself wanting to run again.

I really felt for Faith and really wanted her to find the peace and the love that every child deserves. She is broken, but she seems to finally find a place to belong, especially with Chris. Chris has his own past that he is trying to get past and he takes solitude in Leah and Addy, hoping to start a new leaf on life himself.

The ending was open ended, so I am really hoping that there is a followup to this book because I really loved Chris and Leah's love story and would love to see where this goes. I would have to say this is a 4.5 star book!

Jamie Blair spent most of her teen years choreographing moves for her dance team routines, kissing boys on the couch after her mom went to bed, and pondering the mood enhancement qualities of Lemon Heads when consumed with Diet Coke.  Writing under Kelli Maine, she's the USA Today bestselling author of Taken. Leap of Faith is her debut New Adult novel.
