BLOG TOUR: Three Broken Promises by Monica Murphy

Breakout New Adult sensation Monica Murphy returns with a hot new contemporary romance—a heartfelt story of second chances, forgiveness, and redemption.
Commitment. That’s what I really want from Colin. Ever since my brother, Danny, died in Iraq, Colin’s done so much to help me, including giving me a job at his popular restaurant so I can leave my crappy waitressing job at the strip joint. But lying in bed with him every night to comfort him from his horrible nightmares isn’t enough anymore. I know he feels guilty about Danny’s death, about not going to Iraq, but I can’t keep living this double life.
I love him desperately, but he’s got so many demons, and if he can’t open up to me now, then he’ll never be the real partner I need him to be. I gave him a month, and now I’m out of here. If he truly loves me like he says, he knows where to find me.

What a great addition to the Drew + Fable Series! I absolutely loved Jen and Colin!

Now some of you may be wondering who are Jen and Colin. Well we get glimpses of them in Second Chance Boyfriend. Colin is the owner of The District, a restaurant/bar that Fable and Jen work at. Jen is Fables BFF. Well Jen and Colin have this strange relationship. Colin was Jen's brother's best friend. But when he was killed in Iraq, Colin stepped up to take care of Jen. The only problem is that Jen really likes Colin and Colin likes her too but he doesn't want to break his promise that he made Jen's brother and parents and overstep the line in their relationship. Jen lives with Colin, works with Colin...they are constantly together so every one thinks that they are together. Jen has a past that not even Colin knows about and its starting to show up in her life and so she is ready to run.

This book has me on high alert. There was a lot of inner dialogue, which I loved, even though at times I was like TALK TO HIM/HER! Overall I would give it a solid 4.5 and up next is OWEN!!! YAY!

I have a confession to make: I find the question, If your book was made into a movie, what actors and actresses would you want playing your characters? one of the hardest questions to answer ever.

Why? Most of the time when I’m creating and then writing these characters I’m not using any visuals at all. Usually, the characters merely live in my head and I have a vague understanding of what they look like. That’s it. End of story. I’m boring right? And worse? My writing process constantly changes. I’m so inconsistent it’s crazy.

So when given this question in regards to THREE BROKEN PROMISES, the third book in the One Week Girlfriend series, I immediately froze up and told myself, no way will you be able to pick out actors to play Colin and Jen.

Guess what peeps? I was wrong! And I’m so glad. I found the perfect Colin and the perfect Jen. So let’s start but sharing my actor choice for Colin.

Alex Pettyfer you’re so pretty…I always want to spell his name Prettyfer and that’s no accident because look at him. It’s hard to find a hot blond actor (Chris Hemsworth not withstanding. Good lord, I love that man) but Alex fits the bill for portraying Colin. Unfortunately, I’ve heard time and again that he’s a total jerk to work with. Personally? If he wants to stand there and look pretty with his shirt off, I won’t mind. Not at all…

Now on to my choice for Jen. Oh, how I love this actress. Her eye color is a little off but otherwise, she’s a perfect Jen.

Now that I’m looking at Mila Kunis, I realize her eyes are the perfect color for Jen’s. I thought they were green but I guess I was wrong. Anywho, I think Mila would be an awesome choice for playing Jen. She’s pretty but tough. Soft but strong. I can see this girl taking on Alex as Colin. These two would be pretty hot together on the big screen, don’t you think?

For those of you who’ve read THREE BROKEN PROMISES, I would love to hear if you have any actor preferences for who could play Jen and Colin. Or maybe you’re in total agreement with me—it all works! Let me know what you think.
