BLOG TOUR: Bound by Brenda Rothert

College senior Kate Camden has learned to adapt - to her last year of school, to the promise of motherhood, to the fact that she’s doing it all alone. But just when she’s learned to adjust, heartache threatens to break her apart.

Pro hockey player Jason “Ryke” Ryker has it all: adoring fans, a promising career, and a beautiful wife. But when his seemingly perfect life is shaken by tragedy, he’s left questioning whether having it all is ever more than an illusion.

When circumstance brings Kate and Ryke together, they discover they don’t have to hurt alone. Bound by a grief that haunts them both, they must rely on one another to survive heartbreak. But that grief is more powerful than they realize, and the tie that binds them together may ultimately tear them apart.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a sucker for a good sport related romance. Especially hockey players! So when I saw this book, it immediately went to the top of my TBR and I joined in on the tour ASAP!

This was a different kind of read. Although it has its moments of light-hearted fun. It is a heavy book about grief and being the survivor of it. It was an overly emotional book for me, because I have lived through the grief that Kate goes through. I can say that Brenda was spot on with the emotions of a person going through this type of grief and I was honored by the way she brought the issue to light.

Kate and Ryke are not the perfect couple. There is a lot of back and forth between them with emotions and not knowing the next steps. But that is what makes this book special. It is what makes this a 5 star book for me. Bound will be a book that will stay with me for a while. And that's what we want in our books. Books that give us a different perspective and sheds light on subjects that aren't always talked about. Love Love Love this book!!!
