My husband is use to me walking around with some type of eReader in my hand. I have become good at multi-tasking (to some degree). Now I am not claiming that things get done correctly or that they are done in a timely manner (so I had to wash one load of laundry 3 times this week) but things mostly get done. I usually have 3 different books going. One on my Nook, one on my Kindle and usually one on my phone. All and all, I read a lot of books in one week.
I have a friend of mine, Liz, who I meet up with in the car rider line at school to hold our daily "Book Club". We sit in line a whole hour before our kids even get out of school to talk books or FBBs (Fictional Book Boyfriends) or the newest author I adore. I forget how fast of a reader I am when asking her what book she is reading and she still is on the same book from two days ago. My list that I forward to her so she can add them her TBR list is pages long, She says it could take her years to catch up. She is a great friend for listening to my gushing! She appeases me in my rantings and ravings. The teachers at the school, know of our "Book Club" and will stop by the car to see what we are up to. It's what I look forward to daily. I also have several friends that I have met through Facebook by discussing books. Some of them has become dear friends and we chat almost daily. They have suggested books that I would never in a million years had thought I would read (and actually like) and they encourage me, tease me and keep me laughing. I couldn't image how boring my day would be without them.
All that to say, word of mouth is the life line for most authors. Especially self-published authors. You know how it goes. I tell Liz, Liz tells her sister or her friend and so forth and so forth. So I am starting my weekly 411. What I am reading and a bit of information for you. I am not a writer/reviewer. These posts will let you know of the books that I read in the past week. I will rate them with hearts instead of stars. Maybe even a favorite quote and links to add to your own TBR lists and where to buy them. This weeks list will be a little longer. I am going to go back to the first. Don't want you to miss out on these great books!
He's a game she never intended to play.
And she's the game changer he never knew he needed.
And she's the game changer he never knew he needed.
I love a sarcastic, smart ass man and Jack Carter is all that and more. Jacl is the BMOC and no one thought he could ever be caught.
Fight With Me (With Me In Seattle #2) by Kristen Proby
“It’s just dinner, Julianne.”
“You’re not looking at me like you just want dinner, Nate.”
He cocks his head to the side and a smile kisses his lips. “How am I looking at you?”
“Like you’d like to f*ck me on this desk.”
All I can say is this book is HOT , HOT, HOT so read it!
All Over You (Devoured 0.5)
by Emily Snow
Before Sienna was devoured, before Lucas was consumed, they were all over each other . . .
This prequel helps set the scene to Devoured and gives you insight to why Sienna is so mad at Lucas when they meet again in Nashville.
This is a novella - nice quick read.
On The Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves
"I could never come up with the right words to sum up this story, so I'm just going to go with "WOW!". Loved every single word. Beautiful story." ~ Review by Author Tara Sivec on Goodreads
This story grabbed me from the get go. What happens when you get stranded on a desert island with a boy who slowly becomes a man you can't live without. Love Love Love this book!
Dizzy by Nyrea Dawn and Jolene Perry
“He’s the need and the sparks and the laughter, and he touches my heart in a way it’s never been touched before. It’s terrifying and so honest it makes me dizzy.”
I likw books by Nyrea Dawn. They are light reads that are fun and no angst. Drama, sometimes, but nothing to heavy. The story is told in a duel POV, which I always enjoy. A cute read.
The scorching tale of one girl, two brothers and a love triangle…that’s not.
I had this book in my TBR list for over 6 months. Then when Up to You was released this month, I decided to take the plunge! I am kicking myself for not having read it sooner. There is a nice twist in this book that totally threw me for a loop. I stayed up all night reading Down to You and Up to You - SO WORTH THE LACK OF SLEEP!
Links for Down to You:
A witty and uber cute novella. If you are in a book funk, this is a light read that will make you smile. A story about two college students trying to get home, during a blizzard, for Christmas.
Every once in a while, you just want something light and cute with romance to read. The conversations are funny and witty. It was just what I needed.
Stalk Me (The Keatyn Chronicles) by Jillian Dodd
“So, you're single. I'm single. Let's mingle”
A new series by Jillian Dodd, author of
That Boy. A little Gossip Girl meets Hollywood.
This was another book that I had on my TBR list for a while. I LOVED That Boy and That Wedding. I didn't know if I could get into a book about a Hollywood Teen and her mean girl life. This is totally not that type of book. I was hooked on Keatyn and her drama. The Keatyn Chronicles will be a 6 book series. If you have teen daughters. They will love these books. Books 1 & 2 are currently out with Book 3 due to release this Spring.
The Proposal (Proposition #2) by Katie Ashley
This is how I felt when The Proposal was released early! |
I think this tells you how
