SPOTLIGHT: Author L.K. Collins - Fatalism

Alexa Schaefer has been through more pain and hurt in her life than your average twenty-eight year old.She protects her heart by controlling everything around her and living her life according to a strict set of rules. For years, she has lived behind a wall, not allowing anyone into her heart. That is, until she meets Vincent, a man she can't get out of her head no matter what she tells herself.

On the outside, Vincent Mileski appears to be a confident, no nonsense attorney. A prodigy in the field of law, he has just won the biggest case of his career. Needing out of the spotlight, Vincent moves back to his home state of Colorado to get some time alone to heal from a previous betrayal. He hasn’t had a woman turn his head in years, that is,until he meets Alexa. After only knowing her name and the sweet taste of her kiss, she is torn from his arms.

Will fate bring these two back together, or will they spend an eternity searching?

I nodded my head again still biting my lip, and he slid himself into me. Once he filled me, he circled his hips pushing and expanding, touching every inch inside of me. The feeling was amazing. I dropped my head and closed my eyes tightly as he slid out slowly and thrust back inside of me.
“Look at me, baby,” he demanded.
My head snapped up, and I locked eyes with him. His hair was messy and the small amount of facial hair I saw in the reflection was hot as hell. His brows were creased as he loved my body with his. He picked up speed and was pounding me. He showed no mercy, and I loved that. A sheen of sweat came across his forehead as he worked so hard to pleasure both of us. I clung to the sink with everything I had. The pressure from Vincent’s weight, gripping onto me and slamming into me, made me realize why he said to hold on and not let go.

Fatalism was your debut novel. How did you come about releasing your first book? Have you always wanted to write?
I have always has a passion for reading, after talking with my husband about the books I was reading he said, “Why don’t you write a book?” I was shocked at his response and then we talked for hours about the ideas I had. Bam, that’s how the, The Life. Destiny. Fate Series was born.

When writing do you pull from real life experience?
No, I really try to keep the two separate.

What is your writing process? Late nights? Music?
I write 10,000 words per week to and from work during my commute and on my lunch breaks. Everything else is gravy. YES, late nights always happen and music is a must!

Has the author experience been everything that you thought it would be? What have you learned the most about releasing your novel?
Yes, this experience has been amazing. It has far surpassed my expectations. I would say what I learned most about releasing my first novel is, to take my time and enjoy the experience. If at any point I start to stress and am not having fun, I reevaluate and put myself in check.

Who is your FANGIRL author and have you met that person yet?
Nicole William, is my all time favorite author and YES I met her in Vegas. She was amazing
.
So next up in the Life.Destiny.Fate Series is Abel and Cara’s story. Can you give a little hint of what to expect with Determinism.
Oh Cara and Abel, they’ve been so much fun to learn about. I loved writing their story. I can tell you that in Determinism you get both Cara and Abel’s perspective. The SEX is hot, hot, hot and there is way more variation in Determinism than there was in Fatalism. Oh and Abel had a dirty mouth.

Thank you for having me Becca, MUAH. Love, LK XOXO

LK is, first and foremost, a wife and a mother. She has always had a mad passion for reading, and recently turned that passion into the love and talent of writing. She writes sexy and erotic adult romance. Fatalism is her debut novel, which is part of the Life. Destiny. Fate Series. The series will contain five books, all of which are their own stories and can be read in order or as a stand-alone.

BLOG TOUR: Bite Me by C.C. Wood

I had the perfect life; an awesome job in advertising, a gorgeous high rise apartment, and a flirtation with the guy down the hall. Then it all came crashing down. Two months later I was a cocktail waitress living in a tiny one bedroom apartment. I had also developed a serious ‘men suck’ attitude.

That all changed the night I met the beautiful and enigmatic Conner Savage. But there was just one little problem…he said he was a vampire. Figures a man that hot would be batshit crazy. Or so I thought. It didn't take me long to realize that Conner wasn't a nut job and that I was addicted to him.

With every moment we spent together he drew me deeper into his world and the supernatural culture in which he lived.
Now I had a choice: the vampire I craved or a normal life. Couldn't be easier, right?

Big thumbs up to reading it.

Wow. Where do I even begin? I loved this story.

This is not like any vampire story you might have read. C.C. puts her own spin on the mythology of vampires which I liked - a lot. You will just have to read it to see what I mean. ;-)

This story is about Donna and Conner. I'll try to do my best without spoiling anything good.

Donna is working as a waitress in a bar after being fired from her advertising job. One night she runs into a little trouble with some customers after closing and Conner comes to her rescue. At first she doesn't believe that he is a vampire, that he is some nut job claiming to be a vamp. She does agree to go out with him against her better judgment, and that (in MHO) is the best decision she makes. :-) They begin a relationship that is sweet and honest. She is smart, a wiseass (kinda like myself in ways), and relatable. Donna is a strong character - not a whiny heroine. Conner. Wow. I wish I had a Conner in my life - human or Vampire.

Honestly - you need to read this book. I don't want to go too much into it because I think you need to experience it for yourself. C.C. finds a way to mix in some humor into the storyline along with some mild drama but its nothing that will make you want to run away frustrated. I'm already looking forward to more to come.

You won't be sorry if you read this book.

I received this book from the author for my honest review.

Ok so mine is a half review - I am still in the middle of reading it. So when I finish, I will be posting my full review. But let me just say this. C.C. Wood has such a knack for pulling in her readers. She is funny, has strong characters that you really can sink your teeth into (yes, I did that on purpose). I am loving the book so far and C.C. is one of those authors that I will buy her books without ever having to see a review. I know it will be a good book, worth every minute I spend in it. This is one of those books :) Full review to come. ~ Becca

A native Texan, C.C. grew up either reading or playing the piano. Years later, she’s still not grown up and doing the same things. Since the voices in her head never shut up, C.C. decided to try and profit from their crazy stories and started writing books.

Now that she has a baby girl at home, C.C.’s non-writing time is usually spent cleaning up poopy diapers or feeding the poop machine. Sometimes she teaches piano, cooks, or spends time bugging her hubby and two beagles.

BLOG TOUR: No More Wasted Time by Beverly Preston

After losing her husband to a sudden heart attack, Tess Mathews escapes to Bora Bora to lay her husband and sorrow to rest. What she doesn't expect is a new beginning.

Tom Clemmins is an A-list actor whose life revolves around work and an onslaught of women. He travels to Bora Bora for a much-needed break. Tom has a few ideas of how he'll enjoy his vacation, but love isn't one of them. Until he sees Tess.

Reserving a private shark-feeding excursion to scatter her husband's ashes into the lagoon, Tess is furious when Mr. Hollywood bribes his way onto the boat, leaving her no other choice but to share the boat ride.

Tess is torn between tremendous guilt and zealous lust when their boat ride turns into a week full of romance and desire neither thought imaginable. Utterly smitten with a woman for the first time in his life, Tom casts his commitment phobia aside and whisks Tess off to Malibu where he introduces her as his "girlfriend" on the red carpet.

As the paparazzi besiege, can Tess survive the media blitz that ensues in order to find her second chance at love?

Oh my! Tom and Tess have stolen my heart! No More Wasted Time was the perfect mixture of romance and hot and steamy. And the best part of this story is that the main characters are older (in their 40s) and are hot hot hot.

Tess Matthews is heart broken. The love of her life has died suddenly of a heart attack and she is needing closure. She heads on a solo trip to Bora Bora to say goodbye to her husband of 25 years. On her first day there, she runs into Tom Clemmins, yes THE Tom Clemmins, Hollywood playboy, with his date of the day, a gorgeous blonde model. Although Tess is attracted to Tom, it's not what she is here for. So she books a tour out to one of her and her late husbands favorite spots to say goodbye to him and hopefully start to live her life again. Her private tour, soon turns into a tour for two, when Tom decides to overbid her on her tour and invites himself along for the ride.

Although mad, Tess needs to take care of her husband's ashes and can't wait, so she begrudgingly lets Tom come along. The events of the next couple of days are a whirlwind and Tess finds herself in the arms of Tom and he teaches her to live her life, and waste no more time in the past.

Tom is loving, kind, romantic and passionate. He doesn't believe in dating or love or marriage but there is something about Tess that he just can't shake.

I can't really tell you much else. But I could not put this book down! Loved it so much and am happy to see that more books are planned for the Clemmins/Matthews family. 5 huge stars for this feel good love story.

Tom and Tess strolled back to the guesthouse. As soon as the door shut behind them, Tom pressed his body tightly to hers, pinning her against the wall. His lips fastened around hers, stealing the breath from her lungs. He raised her arms above her head, holding her wrists tightly with one hand. The pleasure of it sent her pulse rocketing through her veins.

He released his grip on her wrists and fervidly tugged at her clothing. “Were you afraid you’d miss me today?” he whispered before bearing his mouth down over hers.

Caught up in the heat of his hungry lips, she couldn’t answer, but nodded yes. She gently stroked his face with her fingers and kissed him deeply in return. Tom buried his face in her neck and she could feel him trembling beneath her fingers. Moans climbed from her throat and he greedily took her cries of longing into his mouth.

His dark eyes locked on hers and he grasped her upper arms, holding her to the wall. “I want you,” came a possessive growl from deep within him. His words spoken so powerful, it was as if he were trying to tell her something.

To her own surprise, the strength of his intense desire, flooded her with a fierce wave of arousal. She vehemently gripped the hair at the nape of his neck. “Then take me.”

Glancing at the bed, she stretched her leg to the side, her toes searching for the bedside table for support.

“We’re not going over there,” Tom flirted in a low rumble.

Clutching her firmly by the ribcage, he bent down taking hold of her nipple tenderly between his teeth and drawing it into the heat of his mouth. She balanced on her tippy toes as he squeezed firmly along the outside of her thigh, grabbing hold of her leg and drawing it up over his hip.

She fumbled blindly with the button of his jeans as his kisses became tender, brushing over her cheek, neck and throat. “I want you,” he whispered again, softly this time.

The gentleness of his voice made her tremble even more, making it nearly impossible of her to get his jeans off.

     “I’m trying.”

One brow bent into a touch of a frown as if she didn’t understand what he was trying to tell her. He reached down to help her with the fastening of his jeans. He nudged his hips forward and the hard length of him slid along the wetness of her skin, only teasing her with his ridge.

On the edge of peaking, she whimpered softly, “Please.”

He did it again and again, sliding against that one throbbing spot. Holding back, paying no attention to her pleads for more. “Not yet, Tess.” His deep sexy voice rumbled low in his chest.

Her fingers dug into his shoulders as she lifted her other leg around his hip, sinking onto him fully. Hot kisses trailed up her neck as he grabbed her ass. The strength of his hands and vigorous thrusts made her cry out with pleasure, securing her hands behind his neck for support.

Tess felt a connection with him like no other. Tom handled her tenderly, yet powerfully at the same time. How can this be? Oh God. He touches me just right and his mouth tastes so fucking good. I’ve never felt like this. I didn’t think it could be so good. Kiss him, Tess. Kiss him like you want to.

Letting go of her fears, guilt, and the sheer desire she’d been holding back, Tess planted her lips on his and kissed him with passion and hunger. Plunging her tongue deeper as she played with his, she ignited a new energy in him. The louder she moaned, the more dynamic he became, driving deeper into her very soul. A tear spilled down her cheek as she crested her peak again. Tom kissed her tenderly as his body convulsed and slumped heavily against her.

RELEASE DAY BLITZ: Safe with Me by Kristen Proby

Keeping others safe is what Caleb Montgomery does. He’s never had a problem taking on an assignment, whether it was during his dangerous SEAL days or his most recent job of training war mercenaries. But being assigned to keep Brynna Vincent and her adorable daughters, Maddie and Josie, safe from an unknown threat has thrown Caleb off his axis.

Hot for the tall brunette since she came back to town more than a year ago, being close to her day in and day out is cracking Caleb’s resolve to keep his hands off her gorgeous body and his head in the mission.

Brynna is sick and tired of being afraid. All she wants is a normal, quiet life for her and her precious girls. Just as she’s settling into her new home in Seattle and feeling safe again, Caleb shows up on her doorstep insisting the danger is as high as ever. But whether she needs to be sheltered from the threat in her past, or from the intense emotions she feels for the sexy, protective man sleeping in her home, remains to be seen. What will happen if Brynna and her girls fall in love with a man so broken he may not be able to protect them from the danger that threatens, much less himself?”

SAFE WITH ME is the fifth book in the With Me In Seattle series, and continues to follow this tight-knit, loving family through life’s trials and tribulations with humor, passion and everlasting love.

“Easy,” Caleb murmurs behind me
.
“I’m fine.” Maybe if I keep saying it I’ll start to believe it myself.

He moves up behind me and nudges my legs apart. “Widen your stance for balance.”

I fire again, and my blood thickens as adrenaline pumps hard and fast through me.

It doesn’t take a Navy SEAL to figure out how to line up the sights, and I squeeze the trigger, again and again, my body taught with aggression that I didn’t even know I’d been holding.

Shooting is great therapy.

When the magazine is empty, Caleb wordlessly shows me how to switch it out, and I continue to throw the bullets down the range, clip after clip, until all four are spent.

I set the heavy gun on the shelf, pull my goggles and earmuffs off and step back. I have to lock my knees because my legs feel like Jell-O and I’m afraid I’ll fall. My arms are humming, I’m panting, and I swear to God, I could run a marathon.

Suddenly, Caleb steps up behind me and presses the button to bring the target back to us.

“Take a deep breath,” he whispers against my ear and I instinctively respond, pulling in a long, deep breath. He presses his chest against my back, his thighs against the back of my own, and pulls in a long breath of his own. “You smell so fucking good.”

His cock stirs against my backside, through his jeans. He pulls his hands up my arms and down my sides to my hips, where he rests them as he runs his nose up the side of my neck.

With the noise and feel of the gun still in my head, my heart still pounding like crazy, I want him.

Now.

“You have no idea how fucking good you feel pressed up against me like this,” he whispers, his voice rough and strained.

“I think I have an idea,” I respond, surprised to hear the raw need in my own voice. Closing my eyes, I lean my head back on his shoulder and relish in the feel of his hands kneading my hips and his face pressed into my neck. My nipples are puckered and straining against my bra, and goosebumps have broken out up and down the length of my body.

I want him unlike anything or anyone I’ve ever wanted before.

“Caleb.” His name is a whisper, a prayer.

“Smell so damn good.”

“Touch me,” I demand softly. His hands still. He kisses my neck softly, takes a long, deep breath, and then backs away.

I turn around in surprise and in full-blown anger.

“What kind of game are you playing?” I demand.

“I’m not playing a game.” He crosses his arms over his chest.

“Caleb.” I just stare at him for a long moment. Thirty seconds ago his hands were on me and he was whispering the sweetest things in my ear.

Now he’s turned back into the drill sergeant.

And men say women are confusing.

Finally, he turns and pulls the target down.

“I’ll be damned,” he whispers.

“Let me see.”

There are a few stray bullet holes around the white part of the target, but in the center of the chest and the top of the head are two good-sized holes where my bullets pierced the paper.

“You’re a natural.” I shrug like it’s no big thing, but inside I’m doing the mega happy-dance. “Not so much a pussy, I guess.”Caleb laughs, long and loud and scoops me up into a long hug.

“Definitely not a pussy,” he agrees as he pulls away from me.

“Caleb?” My heart is beating hard, and I’m still pissed at him. He’s smiling down at my target, but when his eyes meet mine, he sobers.

“Yeah.”

“Don’t fucking touch me like that again unless you plan to finish what you start.”

His eyes go hard and his jaw tightens. Before I can turn and walk away, he grabs my wrist and pulls me against him, pinning my arms between our bodies.

“Let’s get this straight, Brynna. I want you so fucking bad my teeth ache. I’ve wanted you for months. But you’re part of my family, and I’m supposed to be protecting you. Dropping my guard and fucking you into the mattress is not the way to keep any of you whole.”

I gasp as his words sink in and I want to beg him to take me home do exactly that; fuck me into the mattress, but before I can speak, he lowers his forehead to mine and clenches his eyes closed as if in pain.

“I’m not going to fuck up our friendship, or make things weird for you with my family, just because I can’t keep my damn hands off you. You mean too much for that.”

I lean into him, wanting to comfort him, but he sighs, lifts his head and plants his lips on my forehead for a long few seconds and then backs away, turns his back on me, and loads the weapon and clips back into his locking gun box.

“I apologize. I won’t touch you again.” Before I can argue, ask him to talk with me about this, he stalks off ahead of me. “Let’s go.”

PROMOTIONAL TOUR: Cowboy Town by Kasey Millstead

Ever since her parents passed away in a tragic car accident, Eden Cross has been living a quiet, stable and predictable life in inner Sydney – the total opposite of her carefree, relaxed, happy-go-lucky past. Her parents passing and the fact she’s an only child meant Eden was left with her best friend, Jules and Matt, her boyfriend of three years as her only family. That was until she discovered something about Matt that would turn her life upside down. Eden leaves Sydney in a hurry and begins an adventure that takes her across four Australian states before she lands in Pine Creek, Northern Territory.

Jackson Henley has lived in Pine Creek his entire life. He runs a massive cattle and cropping station with his twin brother, Jeremy, which they inherited when their parents retired. He’s had a bad experience with relationships courtesy of The Bitch - Dannika, so lately he’s preferred to play the field. That is, until he comes face to face with the stunning brunette beauty who’s behind the bar at the Cow and Calf. The problem is, she won’t tell him her name, she won’t give him the time of day, and she won’t give him a chance to prove himself.

What’s it going to take for Eden to give Jackson a chance? Does he have the patience to even bother fighting for her? How will he handle the competition?

In the end, will Jackson have what it takes to convince Eden to start living again, instead of just existing?

“Hey, gorgeous, can I get another beer?”  I turn my attention from the one-man show and spot Luke, the guy who was here yesterday, and he’s waving an empty glass at me.

“Sure thing,” I reply.  I grab a glass and pull his beer, hand it to him, take his money and return his change.

“So, Dory’s put ya to work, has she?”

“Just helping her out for tonight,” I smile, then sweep my gaze along the bar checking that no one needs refills.  It’s during this exercise that I spot the man who has just walked in.  My breath gets caught in my throat as I watch him take a seat at the bar.  I see his lips move and he’s smiling at people but it’s too loud to hear what he’s saying.  I’m captivated.  He’s utterly gorgeous.  The epitome of Cowboy Hot.  His hair is dark and his jaw is square.  His body is built – broad across the shoulders and narrowing slightly at his hips.  He spots someone across the bar and hands them a fully-fledged, bright white, straight-toothed smile.  My breath leaves me in a whoosh, and then catches again as what has to be his twin slides onto the stool beside him.  Oh my fucking god.

I’ve got a job to do.  I have to pull it together.  It’s not like I’ve never been in contact with good looking guys before.  I worked in one of Sydney’s hottest bars for four years for fuck’s sake.  I mentally slap myself across the face and tell myself to pull it together.  Then I walk across to where they’re sitting and set about getting their order.

“What’ll it be, boys?” I ask in my most relaxed I’m-not-affected-by-you-at-all voice.

Hotty One unashamedly rakes his gaze over my body.  Slowly.  So slowly, I feel my blood start to heat – just from him looking at me.  I must be going mad.  Perhaps it’s the heat up here.  I’m not used to it all.  I really should have worn some linen shorts instead of jeans.

“You, later,” he winks suggestively when he finally pulls his eyes to mine.  Now, don’t get me wrong – the wink was hot.  Fucking hot.  It was the way he said it that turned me off.  You know those guys that can get anyone they want?  Yeah, they’re not so bad.  It’s the ones who can get anyone they want, and they know it, and they show it – that’s the turn off.  Just with that line, Hotty One has shown me he’s a player, unfaithful, untrustworthy and most definitely not the kind of guy I want to get involved with – in bed, or out of.  But, as a woman, I’d rather die than have him know how he affected me, so I tilt my head to the side, smile my cheeky smile and say, “Not tonight, handsome. Or ever.  Drink?”

* I'm 29 years old
* I've been married to my husband Troy for 10 years and together we have 4 children - Zach, Jovi, Demi & Cruz.
* I live in a small country town in NSW, Australia
* I LOVE to read and write
* I LOVE to bake
* I LOVE socializing

* My friends laugh at me because I will talk to anyone, anywhere.  It's funny now but it wasn't so funny for my mum when she had to drag me away from strange homeless people at the train station when I was little, and I may or may not have been going to go in crop dusting plane with a man I'd just met when I was about 4!!

* I read fiction until I was 11 years old.  After that I read non-fiction, true crime, bio's etc.  When my son Jovi drowned in 2011, I found I couldn't bring myself to read non fiction anymore - it was too "real".  Fifty Shades was dominating the media so I got myself a copy and I'm not ashamed to say I read all three of those books at least ten times each.  They allowed me to forget my reality for a little while.  Then I decided that I was going to follow my dreams and write.  I wanted to show my children that just because their brother died, didn't mean they did or our family did.  I want them to reach for the stars and chase their dreams, and the best way to do that is to lead by example!
