This book was just WOW! There are those few books that really stick with you. Those books that pull on your emotional strings and you just can’t seem to forget them. Hopeless by Colleen Hoover, Fear of Falling by S.L. Jennings, Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay…Unbreakable will be one of those books. This book is about survival through the toughest parts of your life. Love that is thought to be ruined, but is worth fighting for. Learning to trust and showing those you love that no matter what – through the good and the bad, you can be unbreakable. This book had me laughing and crying and swooning over Gabe. This is a must read. 5 Fantastic Stars!!

           I nodded my head again still biting my lip, and he slid himself into me. Once he filled me, he circled his hips pushing and expanding, touching every inch inside of me. The feeling was amazing. I dropped my head and closed my eyes tightly as he slid out slowly and thrust back inside of me.

            “Look at me, baby,” he demanded.

            My head snapped up, and I locked eyes with him. His hair was messy and the small amount of facial hair I saw in the reflection was hot as hell. His brows were creased as he loved my body with his. He picked up speed and was pounding me. He showed no mercy, and I loved that. A sheen of sweat came across his forehead as he worked so hard to pleasure both of us. I clung to the sink with everything I had. The pressure from Vincent’s weight, gripping onto me and slamming into me, made me realize why he said to hold on and not let go. 

I really enjoyed the story of Vincent and Alexa. Fate brought the two of them together and they seemed to be soul mates. Alexa though was having a hard time jumping into this relationship, everything seemed to be going too fast. Vincent was convinced that this was forever. As with any novel there are bumps but overall this was a good read. I am looking forward to seeing how LK grows along with the series. 4 stars.

LK is, first and foremost, a wife and a mother. She has always had a mad passion for reading, and recently turned that passion into the love and talent of writing.      If first impressions are really everything, then my first encounter with Holden will forever be engrained into my mind. Like seriously. This is one of the sweetest love stories I have read in a while. Sweet Thing is a romantic tale of self discovery and finding purpose in this crazy world. I swooned hard over Will Ryan. He was my absolute in his imperfections and I loved that this story was more true to real life than most tales that are being told now a days. Will and Mia are far from faultless but in those moments you see how real love works. It's not always pretty and it doesn't always have the perfect timing but if you are patient enough and can feel that pull, you can end up with a love that is true and kind and imperfectly perfect. I give this 4.5 stars. 

Sweet Thing was inspired almost entirely by my love for music and the music scene.  There are so many famous songs not only referenced in my book but performed by the characters as a tribute to those artists and further proof of my obsession.  Sweet Thing follows the trials and tribulations of two twenty-something musicians, Mia and Will, who fall in love over the course of a year and find that their shared musical appreciation and talent is the ultimate catalyst in their relationship.

I thought I would list a few songs referenced or performed from the book and then list a few that I just listened to while I was writing it.  Many times a song would evoke an emotion in me, which aided in making a scene more dramatic, powerful or sweet.

There is just something inherently happy about this song and when Will sings a couple of lines to Mia, it speaks volumes.

This song has stuck with me for many, many years.  There is this building up feeling with the guitars in the beginning; it’s like a really delicate crescendo before Robert Smith starts singing.  Will plays this in the apartment, just goofing around with the song, when Mia surprises him and discovers how truly talented he is.  I always thought of Will singing these lyrics to her because I think the lyrics are powerful and romantic. I chose a live version because they jam a bit longer in the intro and I love that.

THIS IS THE SONG.  This song wrote half the scenes in my book.  I’m putting two versions because of how much I love it. The emotion in the original version and again that building up, the crescendo that helped me to build the drama in a scene is what I love about it.  I would get completely emotional listening to this.  When Mia asks Will to make her feel better in chapter (Track) 17, this was the song I was listening to when I wrote it. The second version I just recently started listening to while writing two new scenes from Will’s point of view.  It’s a much softer and sort of melancholy version.

This is such a sexy, bluesy, sad song.  I didn’t reference it in Sweet Thing, but I felt like Will was singing this to Mia for much of the book while she strung him a long and especially when he walks in to find her with Robert.

I listened to this many times, especially while Mia was in Memphis.  It helped me to visualize the scene.  I like the fragility in it.  It’s one of those songs where you need to be quiet and just listen to fully appreciate it.  This extremely talented artist inspired some of Will’s gifts.

Renee’s first friends were the imaginary kind and even though her characters haven’t gone away, thankfully the delusions have. She admits she’s a wildly hopeless romantic and she blames 80’s movies staring Molly Ringwald for that. She lives in Southern California with her husband, two sons, and their sweet dog June.       The way he instantly knows me makes me very uncomfortable. I freeze, wide eyed and unable to speak for a moment. How could he see me so clearly? How did this connection between us go so deeply? It was disturbing to me, the understanding between us. It’s deeper than even the physical pull between us, as if the air that separates our bodies is electrically charged. I had worked my whole life to push people away, building up this wall of protection. And yet here is this man, tearing it down and seeing who I am through all the bullshit. Maybe I'm not as good at hiding myself as I thought.

    

     “Yeah,” I finally muttered. “Those reasons are pretty much why.”

   

      “It makes you beautiful. The things you say it created in you... are what attract me to you in this unbelievable way. You’re timid, shy, brilliant, and completely unaware of how amazing you are.”

    

     I go statue still. My heart feels like it’s going to explode at his words. How did our conversation change course so quickly? I don’t know if I’m prepared for this. “Amazing?” I repeat in disbelief.

    

     He smiles a catlike smile, like he’s hunting again. Immediately, my breathing increases. “Oh yes. When I first saw your eyes from the stage,” he leans closer to me. I want to both back away and lean toward him at the same time. “I wanted to make them roll back into your head. I wanted to grab your round hips and pull you close to me.” He crouches on the couch, one leg on and one leg off, leaning over me. With his face against my cheek again, he whispers in my ear, “You. Are. Breathtaking.”

OMG! I have a new favorite Rocker and his name is Jeremy Mason! Holy hot mess! Even with everything that is wrong with him - Dylan is one lucky girl. 

Dylan and her best friend Therese are moving to Boston to attend Harvard Law school in the fall. As a house warming gift, Therese's parents give the girls front row seats to see super rock god - Jeremy Mason. Dylan is not impressed with they guy, until an accident sends her backstage and there is a instant connection between the two.

What I really loved about this story is that is seems real. There is no fair tale to this one. Yes, Jeremy is a hot mess. Yes, Dylan is torn (but not in a whiny, whoa is me kinda way). She loves Dylan, but they each have their own demons to slay. And although another guy enters the scene - the drop dead gorgeous Scott, I love that Dylan stays true to Jeremy and there is no awkward love triangle thing going on. (Sorry I know a lot of you like them - but I kinda find them ridiculous)  The only thing wrong with this story was it was short and it leaves you kinda hanging...and for that I give it a 4.5 Star rating. I am on pins and needles for Trials!
