What
if you discovered there was time before time began? What if everything
you thought was true, was not? What if there was a beginning before, “In
the beginning”? What if another story was unfolding within our time? A story steeped in loss, love, betrayal, and secrets?
On
her twenty-third celebrated birthday, Lilith arrived in Scotland,
following clues she had secretly collected about her past. Little did
she know that her arrival at the Rosslyn Chapel would reignite one of
the oldest wars of all time. The Fall. Sides will be chosen, lives will
be lost, and the secret kept all this time by the Illuminati will be
exposed.
Welcome
to Eden. The place where magic was born, trees are gateways to other
realms, and Angels aren’t what you think they are. Meet Lilith. A young
woman with an incredible story; one she isn’t supposed to know, much
less tell. Meet Sam. A man with an unknown past and powers that rival
Lilith’s.
Go back in time. Back to the garden. Experience the magic of creation, the wonder of nature, and the betrayal that destroyed it all.
Sam slowly walked through the
Houston airport. He’d already made it through security, which was always touch
and go for him. His friends didn’t understand why he insisted on flying the
mortal way, but there was something incredible about participating in their
achievement of flight. Step by step he got closer to the plane. If I can just make it to the gate,
everything will be all right.
The air was charged. He could feel
it. Every immortal in the airport could feel it. What he didn’t realize was the
‘it’ was surrounding him. Magic was guiding him towards the gate. Magic that
had a gentle signature, it was feminine and kind. Sam didn’t pick up on any of
that. He was too wrapped up in his own problems.
He was leaving his haven. He’d spent eleven
years in Texas outside of Houston in the rolling plains. Time spent in
communion with God, hiding from the healers and everyone. Time he spent trying
to find her. A dream showed him a cottage in the hills outside of Eden. He had
the ownership papers in his pocket. More disturbing than the cottage itself,
was the fact that in the dream, Sam was in bed with her in his arms and he was
trying to save her life.
Sam’s world consisted of two
things: studying and practicing every healing method of the universe and trying
to locate the girl from his dreams. She was the key to everything about his
past, but more importantly his future. His time at Rice and then the Baylor
medical school taught him this: she was broken and so was he. He recognized a
shattered soul when he encountered it, even if it was only in the dreamscape.
Something had happened to his soul mate.
He would have to heal her. He knew it with every ounce of his being. He had
done a quick search on the internet for famous healers in Scotland and was
floored to find Dr. Asher Daniel still looking for a student to study ancient
healing practices. Remembering the dream again, the anger boiled up inside of
him, and Sam could not hold back the onslaught of magic. The feelings of rage
overpowered his shields so he focused them all on a large florescent light and
blew it to smithereens.
I
am coming. I hope I can be everything you need, my love. It won’t be long now.
I am sorry I cannot save you from the pain, but I will heal your hurt.
Little did Sam know that in that
very same airport not 2000 feet from him under the protection of the Dragon
Guard, sat a young woman, silently drawing in journal and sipping a latte. The
four guards eyed him up and down, and sent a silent message to their knight. My Lord, the betrayed is here in the
airport. They will be on the same plane. I fear for the mortals, if their magic
meets.
The Dragon knight answered, “Keep
her magic contained. That should be easy enough. I’ll make sure there are
delays. Sam needs to regain control before he meets her or he might get hurt.”
The knight on the left
absentmindedly rubbed his left wrist. Remembering the blow Lilith had bestowed
upon him in their sparring earlier.
I
think she is more ready than you perceive. He thought to himself and
smiled. The day of reckoning was at
hand. The immortals felt it. The mortals felt it. Something big was on the
horizon and that could only mean one thing.
He was coming back. He would reclaim that which was stolen. The battle
for Earth begins now.
B. L. Marsh has been writing and telling stories her entire life. She is a music teacher, guest lecturer and runs Master Classes. Her academic research is focused on the L’homme arme tradition, the Dead Sea Scrolls, chant transmission in the Medieval and Renaissance, and Gnostic and Kabbalah history. Her passion for spirituality, mythology and developing her relationship with God are parts of her Rule of Life. In her reading of the Bible and other extra-biblical texts however, she began to daydream about the characters, about how life was back then, and how cool it would have been to walk in the Garden with God. Her stories weave a new mythology revolving around Genesis.
When
she is not writing or teaching, she spends her days hanging out with
five of the coolest boys on the planet and at night can be found doing
completely ridiculous things like reading Joseph Campbell and Jane
Austin and watching the same 3 movies on TV.
