A Wedding for Christmas by Lori Wilde

The whole town is ready for the holidays: The Cookie Club is baking, Main Street glitters with lights, the carolers sing . . .There’s even a Christmas wedding.

When bodyguard Ryder Southerland sees his best friend’s sister Katie at an L.A. Christmas party, he mistakes the slinky blonde for a celebrity stalker and tackles her. Then they tackle each other . . . at his place. The next morning, Katie’s gone, and Ryder tells himself it’s for the best. It isn’t. Now, one Christmas later, Ryder’s falling for the woman he’s been missing in the town he hasn’t missed at all . . .

Katie Cheek’s outgrown the romantic fantasies she had about Ryder when she was fifteen. Katie’s packed their hot night away in a box labeled “fling”—or tried to. But Twilight’s bad boy is the best man in her brother’s wedding. And up-close and personal, Ryder’s impossible to ignore. So Katie can either go into hiding—or surrender to Christmas magic.

A though I've read other books by Lori Wilde, this is the first book in the Twilight, Texas Series of hers I've read. All the books although part of a series, can be read as stand alones.

Katie Cheek finds herself in Los Angeles in a home exchange right before Christmas. She loves her little small town of Twilight, Texas, but there's something to be said of leaving the place where everyone knows you and to cut loose and find a new part of yourself somewhere new. So the day before Christmas Eve she finds herself at a top celebrity filled Christmas Party, determined to do something wild and unlike herself. What he didn't expect was to fun full force (literally) into the one man who stole her heart... Ryder Sutherland.

Ryder was her brother's best friend and the town bad boy, whom she had a huge crush on. That is until she kissed him one day in her bedroom and the next day he was gone.

Katie finds herself at Ryder's loft after the party and decides this is her time... it's now or never. And so she gives in to the lust she's been carrying for Ryder and this time it's her time to disappear.

A year later, Ryder finds himself back in Twilight, Texas. And this time, he's not going to let Katie slip through his fingers again.

I love a good second chance/friends to lovers/childhood friends troupe and this one covers them all. Ryder is sinfully sexy and Katie's insecurities get thrown on the back burner as Ryder helps her come alive.

A fun quick holiday read that is a lot of fun! I can't wait to go back and read the rest of the books in the series.
