Undone by Rebecca Shea
I’ve found it’s easier to share my body but not my soul. I need no one, yet I crave her.
Self-assured
and independent, she doesn’t need me—but she wants me, and undeniably I
want her too. At war with myself as I battle the secrets of my past, I
don’t know if I can allow her to see the darkest parts of me, the parts
I’ve left untouched—undone.
As she chips away at the walls I’ve built for years, I fear those secrets will hold me hostage from love—forever.

Becca: What book do you think impacted your life the most?
Rebecca: Oh boy, just a deep question to start it all off...huh...what book? You really should have given me a heads up on these questions! Ok I think the book that maybe hasn't impacted my life but have read that has stayed with me, like that I think about from this day still, and actually didn't read it that long ago is When It Rains by Lisa DeJong. I mean that book gutted me to the point where I just think about constantly and the other one that I still think about because I am so torn because it's so very controversial is Arsen by Mia Asher. I get that a person can be completely in love with two different people in a very different way like that book. And so that stayed with me for a really long time. I loved the discussions on that book because people where like the very anti-cheating or very anti...you know...but for me it wasn't even really about the cheating but about her. It was about this character that needed two very different things from two very different people, that neither one of them could fulfill. And so for me, for people my age, I think a lot of people are at that point in their lives where this...I guess mid-life crisis, and they are like what do I do? I am a very different person. So both of those books were just so emotional for me. Obviously When It Rains was more crazy emotional where Arsen was more crazy and pivotal with the wants and needs of your life.
Becca: Out of your books, has there been a character that has given you the most trouble or you had a really hard time writing?
Rebecca: I had a really hard time writing Jess because in my head I always knew she was the way she was but I wanted her to be stronger. I wanted her to be something that she just wasn't. And it was hard to write something that I didn't want her to be.
